Carl Heyward :
(on mixed media works)
The concerns investigated in mixed media practice represent a consistent theme: the placement of disparate objects, materials and gestures into juxtapositions unlikely or unexpected offering optional conclusions/conversations/relationships, an ongoing area of interest for me. There is resonance in the relationship of color, surface, texture, edge and tear with the placement of one to the other resulting in unique readings stirring emotional / psychological / physical associations.
It's painting, architecture and collage combining elements of reality into an alchemical brew.
Anyway, that's my story.
